like a worm, in the rain, you crawl across the pavement, unaware of the noose looming over your neck
like a bird, in the wind, finding struggle to keep flight, exhausted wings continue to beat
and while the sound of swelling pollutes your ears, your surroundings fall
every where you've been, every heart you've touched or torn, are melting like the sun melts the earth
the walls crumble down, every shelf is shed of it's possessions
the floor, where you stand, is flux and softens right beneath your feet
an escape is laid out before
because the door, the block, the barricade
has dissolved into the sand
yet still you won't be moved
the signals have changed, and you're stuck between green and red
and you will not be moved
you'll just wait and be dissolved into the sand
